New KMTA Event: Collaborative Piano Day

We are pleased to announce the establishment of a brand new KMTA event, Collaborative Piano Day. Designed with pianists of all ages in mind, this day will be a glimpse into the exciting and fulfilling world of collaborative piano playing and will include masterclasses, an introduction to vocal coaching, and more!

It will be held on Saturday, October 20th in the Niles Gallery on the campus of the University of Kentucky. Faculty will include Dr. Allison Gagnon, Collaborative Piano Department Chair at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts; Nan McSwain, Vocal Coach and Lecturer in Opera at the University of Kentucky Opera Theatre; and Dr. Jacob Coleman, a welcomed new member of the KMTA and Assistant Professor of Piano and Collaborative Piano at the University of Kentucky.

We hope that you will set this date aside and make plans for you and your students to attend and be involved in this exciting new event. Further information, including complete schedule and application for masterclass participation, will be available soon. Any questions may be directed to Victor Andzulis at
